Most organisations have major donor prospects already in their database. Wealthscan helps you find them. Wealthscan is FR&C's structured data screening service, used by universities, hospitals, independent schools, arts organisations and nonprofits across Australia and New Zealand. It identifies individuals with significant wealth, leadership roles or philanthropic involvement who are already connected to your organisation — so your team knows where to focus its cultivation efforts.
The Wealthscan database The Wealthscan database has been developed and maintained by FR&C over more than 20 years. It contains verified, publicly sourced information on more than 70,000 individuals, including directors and senior executives of major public and private companies, owners and founders of significant private businesses, foundation and PAF trustees, and known philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals. The database is built exclusively from lawful public domain information. We do not use modelled, inferred demographic or consumer data — and unlike AI-generated screening tools, FR&C draws on proprietary sources and subscription databases that automated systems cannot access. Records are continuously reviewed and updated.
How it works — a two-stage process Stage One — Screening and Overview Report You send us your donor, alumni or contact file. We screen it against the Wealthscan database using multiple matching fields, primarily name and address, with additional identifiers including date of birth, email and phone number where available. Following screening, you receive an Overview Report which includes the total number of matches identified, a breakdown by category (such as corporate leadership, foundation trusteeship, or rich list inclusion), an estimated match rate, and a sample Reason for Inclusion report. The Overview Report does not contain the names of matched individuals. There is no obligation to proceed further. Match rates typically range from 0.2% to 2.5% depending on the demographics of your file. In a file of 20,000 names, this may result in approximately 40 to 500 matches.
Stage Two — Reason for Inclusion Reports and Profiling If you choose to proceed after the Overview Report, we provide Reason for Inclusion (RFI) reports on your matched individuals. Each RFI report includes the individual's name, their reason for inclusion in the database (such as a senior corporate role, rich list inclusion, or foundation trusteeship), and where available, wealth estimates, remuneration information, and PAF or foundation asset figures. Two options are available — information re-verified immediately prior to delivery, or provided as currently held within the past 12 months. We'll recommend the right option based on your needs. For prospects where you want deeper intelligence, we also offer standard profiles (a 1–2 page summary of wealth indicators, employment, positions held and known philanthropic activity) and full profiles (an extensive 6–10 page profile covering business history, family, interests, activities, press coverage and photo where available). We're happy to discuss which names to prioritise and how to get the most from your budget — you don't need to order reports on every matched individual.
Responsible screening Wealthscan is conducted in full compliance with the Australian Privacy Act. We use only publicly available and ethically sourced data. Client data is transmitted and stored securely and deleted upon completion of work. It is never used for any purpose beyond the agreed engagement.
Every record is reviewed by an experienced human researcher — not processed by an algorithm. This matters for two reasons. First, human researchers apply judgement that automated tools cannot, contextualising findings and identifying nuance that a purely data-driven approach would miss. Second, FR&C's research draws on sources that are not accessible to AI tools — including proprietary databases, subscription resources and manually compiled records — meaning the depth and accuracy of our screening goes beyond what any automated system can produce.
Wealthscan is a tool to support informed, proportionate engagement — not a substitute for professional judgement or relationship-based fundraising practice.
