Other research services.

Research ServicesFR&C provides a range of specialist research services to support major gift fundraising. All research is conducted by experienced analysts using lawful public domain information, proprietary databases and subscription resources.

Prospect Profiling
A well-timed profile gives your fundraisers the intelligence they need to enter a conversation with confidence. FR&C offers two levels of profiling depending on the stage of the relationship and the depth of insight required.
A standard profile (1–2 pages) covers the essentials: wealth indicators, current and former employment, directorships, known philanthropic activity, and relevant networks. It is designed for prospects moving from qualification into active cultivation.
A full profile (6–10 pages) provides comprehensive coverage of business history, family background, interests and activities, media coverage, and philanthropic giving across organisations. It is suited to prospects approaching solicitation at a significant level, or where a detailed understanding of the individual is required before cultivation begins.
We also profile companies and foundations where a client is exploring corporate or trust and foundation funding opportunities.

Due Diligence
Accepting a major gift — particularly a naming gift — carries reputational considerations that need to be assessed before a relationship progresses too far. FR&C's due diligence reports provide a structured review of publicly available information to help advancement leaders make informed decisions.
A standard due diligence report covers corporate activity and directorships, the ASIC banned and disqualified register, litigation history, political donations, and a media scan. For higher-value or higher-risk situations, a more comprehensive review examines related family members, associated entities, and the full depth of available records.
Our reports go beyond a list of findings — they provide context and interpretation, so you understand not just what was found, but what it means for your organisation.
Due diligence should be built into your gift acceptance framework before it is needed, not commissioned in response to a problem. We are happy to help you develop a trigger list and process that works for your team.

New Prospect Identification
If your existing database has been screened and profiled and you need to expand your prospect pool, FR&C can build a targeted list of new prospects based on your specified criteria — sector, geography, philanthropic interest, wealth indicators, or a combination. This service is particularly useful ahead of a campaign launch or when entering a new fundraising area.

Prospect Rating
Effective major gift fundraising depends on knowing where to focus. FR&C's prospect rating service assesses your known prospects and donors against the LIA framework — Linkage, Interest, and Ability — using publicly available information. The result is a prioritised list that helps your team allocate cultivation resources thoughtfully and make the case internally for where to invest time.

Prospect Research Training
FR&C offers bespoke training in prospect research for advancement teams, available in-person or virtually. Half-day and full-day sessions can be tailored to your team's experience level and specific needs — whether you are building a prospect research capability from scratch, upskilling an existing team, or developing internal processes and frameworks.
Training topics include prospect identification, profiling methodology, wealth assessment, due diligence, and prospect pipeline management.
