"Saving us heaps of time and helping us to provide more detailed giving histories in our profiles...keep up the good work!"

Understanding a prospect's philanthropic history is one of the most valuable things a fundraiser can know. Giftsearch puts that information at your fingertips.
Giftsearch is FR&C's searchable database of publicly recorded philanthropic giving in Australia and New Zealand. It contains more than 1.2 million donation records drawn entirely from public domain sources, representing over $16 billion in disclosed giving. It is used by nonprofit fundraising and advancement teams across Australia and New Zealand as an essential tool for prospect research and major gift program development. What Giftsearch contains Every record in Giftsearch has been sourced from publicly available materials — donor honour boards, annual reports, foundation publications, and other disclosed sources. For each record, Giftsearch shows the donor name, recipient organisation, amount given or gift band, year of donation, and the source of the record. The database is fully searchable by name, organisation, sector, amount, geography, and date — individually or in any combination. Results can be exported instantly to Excel. How fundraisers use Giftsearch Researching a known prospect's giving history Before a major gift conversation, understanding where someone gives, at what level, and over what period of time is invaluable. Giftsearch allows you to build a picture of a prospect's philanthropic interests and giving capacity quickly and from a single source — context that would otherwise require hours of manual research across multiple sources. Finding new prospects by giving pattern Giftsearch can also be used to identify individuals you may not have considered as prospects. By searching across sector, geography, giving level or recipient type, you can surface donors with a demonstrated history of philanthropic engagement that is relevant to your organisation's mission — people who are already giving at a significant level to causes like yours. Built on public information, maintained by researchers Unlike automated data aggregators, Giftsearch is actively maintained by FR&C's research team. Records are added continuously as new public domain sources are identified and reviewed. All data is verified by human researchers before inclusion — not generated or inferred by an algorithm. Giftsearch does not contain private financial information, data obtained without consent, or records sourced from non-public materials. It is a transparent, ethically maintained resource built to support responsible fundraising practice. Subscription details Giftsearch is available as an annual subscription to nonprofit organisations in Australia and New Zealand. Subscribers have unlimited search access for the duration of their subscription, with instant Excel export included. Contact us to arrange a demonstration or to subscribe.
